Beaches with crystal clear waters
Nafplio is the ideal choice if you wish to explore the nearby beaches and bask in the sun. There are a lot of lovely beaches near or further away from the city to choose from. Some are well organized with cafes and beach bars, others are quieter, but they are all beautiful and unique.
If you are in Nafplio and want to visit a nearby beach, then Arvanitia bay is ideal for moments of relaxation, with its clear waters and big pebbles, while it is sheltered from the north winds. If you find yourself on top of Akronafplia, walk down the small metal staircase to a small hidden beach under the shade of Palamidi. A quieter option off the beaten track is Neraki beach with crystal blue waters, just 15 to 20 minutes away from Arvanitia beach.
The beaches of Karathonas and Tolo are easily accessible, at a short distance from Nafplio. The first is located just a few kilometres outside Nafplio, and extends to a stretch of 2 kilometres where you will find cafes and beach bars to enjoy a cup of coffee or drink. Tolo beach is also organized and located at the namesake village, one of the popular tourist resorts in the area.
Moreover, it is also worth visiting Kondyli or Agios Nikolaos beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Argolida. It is located 17 km from Nafplio and can cater for different tastes, while its sunset impresses every visitor.
