Palamidi Fortress

Palamidi is a fortress in Nafplio, Greece, which was built in 1687 by the Venetians, after they conquered the hill on which it is located, after a fierce battle against the Ottomans during the Venetian-Turkish War.

Bourtzi Fortress

Bourtzi is a fortress located on the islet of Agii Theodori at the entrance of the port in Nafplio, about 400 meters from the pier. The name "Bourtzi" originates from Turkish or Arabic and means "fortress island". Nowadays, it represents Nafplio's most well-known landmark along with Palamidi fortress.

Archaeological Museum of Nafplio

The archaeological museum of Nafplio is housed in an imposing Venetian stone building that stands out due to its impressive size and its clean-cut, symmetrical lines on the western side of Syntagma Square. The building was constructed in 1713, during the second Venetian rule as a naval warehouse by the Prefect of the fleet, Augustine Sagredo, according to the marble Latin inscription that has been inlaid in its facade.
